Allied Health Insurance
Allied Health Insurance is a product which is specifically designed for professionals operating in the allied health sector. The product is a combined package product, which includes coverage for professional indemnity and public and product liability.
The health, beauty and wellness industries make up a large component of the Australian economy. The 2022/23 Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency annual report reveals there were 877,119 registered health practitioners across 16 regulated professions at 30 June 2023, an increase of almost three per cent over the past year. And that doesn't include the number of professionals that are not required to be regulated by AHPRA, such as beauty therapists and nail salons.
Broadly speaking, Antipodean Underwriting's Allied Health Policy is suitable for professionals operating in the following segments:
Medical establishments
AHPRA Regulated professions
Non-AHPRA regulated allied health professions
Beauty therapists
Educational organisations
Students studying to become an allied health professional
First aid responders
Medical Practitioners, such as doctors and dentists, are required to purchase a similar product, referred to as medical indemnity insurance. This product is not a medical indemnity product. Medical practitioners should consult their insurance broker and seek alternative terms.
Note that Antipodean Underwriting is currently in the process of applying for an Australian Financial Services Licence and is unable to offer terms just yet. But we're working frantically to bring our offering to market. We recommend that you subscribe to our newsletter to make sure you're one of the first to know once we're ready to commence trade.
